Gene Owen Daniels, 79, Klamath Falls, Ore., died Friday in his residence following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Daniels was part owner of Camelot West Manufacturing near Chiloquin, Ore. The firm made banquet tables. He retired in 1989 and spent winter months in Palm Springs, Calif. He was formerly owner and operator of Gene Daniels Sales Co., selling medical supplies, at LaPuente, Calif., and had worked for C.G. Conn Musical Co. at Indianapolis.

He was raised at Covington and graduated Covington High School in 1941. He entered the Army in 1944, serving during World War II. He was honorably discharged as a master sergeant in 1946.

His memberships included Scottish Rite Lodge and Hillah Temple Shrine at Ashland, Ore., and was a former member of Reames Golf & Country Club.

He was born Nov. 1, 1923, at Covington, to Theodore and Gladys Martha Martin Daniels. He married Olive Marie Kime on Oct. 19, 1947, at Elkhart. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Kent and Kirt; and a brother, Theodore.

A daughter, Debra Daniels, and an infant brother are deceased.

A private family service will be conducted. Cremation will be by Klamath Cremation Service. Burial will be in Eagle Point National Cemetery. O'Hair & Riggs Funeral Chapel & Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.
